- Born on January 25, 1996, in the village of Horaymivka, Manevytskyi district, Volyn region. At the age of 11, the boy became an orphan and was raised in a foster family in the town of Manevychi, Manevytskyi district, Volyn region. From 2008, he studied at the general education school No. 1 in the town of Manevychi, which he graduated from in 2013 and enrolled in the Institute of Physical Culture and Health of the Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University in Lutsk, Volyn region. With the beginning of the Revolution of Dignity, which engulfed the entire country, Andrii was an active participant. However, with the onset of hostilities in eastern Ukraine, he could not remain indifferent to these events, went to the military commissariat to volunteer for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but was refused. He then left his studies at the university and went to Kyiv to enlist in the volunteer battalion "Azov." In May 2014, he voluntarily joined the patrol police battalion "Azov" of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. During his service in the "Azov" battalion, he received the call sign "Khoma." He participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Throughout July - August 2014, he took part in the liberation of the city of Mariupol in the Donetsk region, where he demonstrated courage and bravery while carrying out combat missions. On August 20, 2014, the unit that Andrii "Khoma" Sniitko was part of was carrying out a combat mission to liberate the city of Ilovaisk in the Donetsk region from terrorists. During the clearing of buildings, a group of fighters led by Andrii fell into an ambush, and almost immediately a grenade fell at their feet. Without a moment's hesitation, Andrii fell on the grenade, thereby saving the lives of two of his comrades at the cost of his own life. On August 24, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the town of Manevychi, Volyn region. On January 25, 2015, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the town of Manevychi on the facade of the building of general education school No. 1 (6 Komarova Street), where Andrii Sniitko studied. On October 9, 2015, by the decision of the Manevytskyi District Council of the Volyn region, general education school No. 1 in the town of Manevychi was named after Andrii Sniitko. On December 18, 2015, by the decision of the Manevychi Village Council session, Karl Marx Street was renamed Andrii Sniitko Street.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
