- Reconnaissance officer Anton Horshenin (call sign Horka) was killed on April 29, 2022 between the village of Temirivka in the Zaporizhzhia region and the village of Zelenopillia in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he came under fire from Grad multiple rocket launchers. A direct hit on the vehicle where he was with two comrades-in-arms took their lives. Anton was born in Zaporizhzhia. After finishing school, he obtained the profession of an electrician at a technical school. He worked as an electrical installer and had a higher qualification. From an early age, he played basketball and dreamed of doing it professionally. He loved sports and always kept himself in shape. He practiced boxing. He was passionate about cars, particularly Mercedes. In 2015-2016, he fought in the ATO in Donbas as part of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, Anton joined the ranks of the Territorial Defense Forces. He ended up in the sabotage and reconnaissance group of the 111th Battalion of the 110th Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In March 2022, during the liberation of the village of Malynivka in the Zaporizhzhia region, Anton's group took two occupiers prisoner. From April, he was part of the reconnaissance unit. He successfully completed missions and saved many lives of his comrades. "Anton was very brave, patriotic, intelligent, courageous, strong, and faithful. From the first day of the war, he said unequivocally that he would go to defend his country: 'I cannot be at home and hide behind others, I must be there, defending my family and country.' He was confident in himself and in our victory. For almost 16 years, he was my support, love, and strength. He was very much looking forward to the birth of our son Mykhailo. How sorry I am that my husband did not see and did not rejoice in how our son is growing up," said the wife of the fallen warrior, Darya. The warrior was buried at the Kapustyansky Cemetery in Zaporizhzhia. At home, Anton was awaited by his parents, wife, and son, who was not even a year old at the time of his father's death.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
