Дмитро Петрович. Цибак (Ахілл)

Lieutenant Dmytro Tsybak (call sign Achilles) was killed on August 7, 2023 near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. In a battle with the occupiers, he received fatal injuries during a mortar shelling. The defender was 35 years old. Dmytro was born in the village of Horyanka, Mykolaiv region. He graduated from the Kyiv International University, where he studied at the Faculty of Law and obtained a higher legal education. From 2013 to 2019, he served in the South Ukrainian City Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Mykolaiv region. He started as a district police officer and then worked as an operative in the criminal investigation department. He loved sports and practiced kickboxing. When the full-scale invasion began, the man first went as a volunteer to the territorial defense of Yuzhnoukrainsk, and later joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 117th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He held the position of company commander. He fought in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions (Bakhmut, Soledar, Kurakhove, Marinka), and later went to the Zaporizhzhia direction. "Dima was the kindest and most sincere person. He always helped everyone, never refused to help. He didn't want to die, he planned a future with his wife Iryna. Dima's comrades-in-arms respected and still respect him. According to them, Dima always went first, and even the company is still called 'Achilles' company'," said his cousin Olena Chmyshuk. The defender was buried in the village of Kozubivka in the Mykolaiv region. Dmytro is survived by his parents, brother, wife, daughter, son, and other relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms. The officer was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, 3rd degree.
