Gennady Dolgolykov (call sign Stern), a fighter, was killed on May 14, 2023, from serious injuries he sustained on February 2 in a battle with the occupiers near Bakhmut. The defender was forever 35 years old. Gennady was born in Crimea. He studied at secondary school No. 17 in Feodosia. In 2010, he graduated from the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman, where he studied banking. Five years later, he obtained an education at the Academy of Advocacy of Ukraine. He lived in Kyiv. He worked in various companies. His last place of work was "KredoBank". He was an athlete, engaged in football. He actively helped the military. With the start of the full-scale war, Gennady himself became a serviceman, joining the ranks of the 125th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took part in battles in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. During his service, he continued to engage in volunteer activities to help the military meet the needs at the front. In September 2022, he was awarded a certificate for a significant personal contribution to the protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. "A financier, banker with excellent education, athlete, volunteer of the brigade of Crimean marines, from 2022 - a warrior. I won't say anything else. Safe journey, compatriot," wrote his friend Andrei Klimenko. "When hope was to the last... When it's impossible to believe... Forever in memory... A true Hero. A caring person with a huge kind heart that has stopped... Yes, Gena, Crimea is Ukraine. Thank you, Warrior, but I don't believe it..." wrote Yana Bogomolets. "A sincere patriot, defender of Ukraine, father, husband and our colleague. There are no words that can convey the sadness of this loss. Gennady received a serious injury and fought for his life for several months... There are no former employees. For almost 9 years at "Credit Agricole" Gennady became a sincere friend for many, the leader of the bank's football team, a wonderful colleague. We express our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones," wrote on the bank's page. "Don't cry for me if I perish in the field, I'll give everything for our dear mother - our Ukraine!" Gennady wrote on his social media page. The defender was buried at the Berkovetsky cemetery in Kyiv. Gennady left behind a wife and a child.
