Іван Володимирович. Воробей

Born on July 3, 1999, in the village of Dihtyarivka, Novhorod-Siverskyi district, Chernihiv region. In 2016, he graduated from the educational complex of the village of Dihtyarivka, Novhorod-Siverskyi district, and then from the Shostka Professional Lyceum. On April 27, 2018, he was enlisted for military service under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Novhorod-Siverskyi Combined City Military Commissariat of Chernihiv region. He served as a cadet at the 169th Training Center of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0665, the urban-type settlement of Desna, Kozelets district, Chernihiv region), and then as the deputy commander of a combat vehicle - gunner-operator of the 3rd section of the 2nd platoon of the 1st mountain assault company of the 109th separate mountain assault battalion of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade of the Operational Command "West" of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A3892, the village of Krykhivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk city council, Ivano-Frankivsk region). Since 2018, he participated in the Joint Forces Operation in eastern Ukraine. On November 9, 2018, around 21:30, soldier Vorobey was killed by a sniper's bullet while performing a combat mission at a platoon stronghold near the village of Krymske, Novoaidar district, Luhansk region. Also, during the attempt to carry the wounded Ivan out from under fire, soldier Letyuk was killed. On November 12, 2018, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Dihtyarivka, Novhorod-Siverskyi district. In March 2019, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the village of Dihtyarivka, Novhorod-Siverskyi district, on the facade of the educational complex (Pokrovska Street, 67), where Ivan Vorobey studied.
