    • Biography

      Народився в 1970 році у смт. Драбів на Черкащині, громадянин України.
      Воював за нашу Батьківщину у складі 128-ї окремої гірсько-піхотної бригади ЗС України у званні молодшого сержанта.
      Помер 1 грудня 2014 р. від поранення, отриманого в зоні проведення АТО.
      Похований.
      Указом Президента України № 282/2015 від 23.05.2015 р. посмертно нагороджений орденом «За мужність» III ступеня.

      • Born on April 3, 1970, in the urban-type settlement of Drabiv, Drabiv District, Cherkasy Region. Graduated from high school. Served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the USSR during compulsory military service. On August 1, 2014, he was mobilized as a volunteer into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a flamethrower in the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1778 (field post V4673), city of Mukachevo, Zakarpattia Region). From the summer to autumn of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. During one of the battles, Junior Sergeant Potapenko was wounded. The wounded serviceman was transported to the Military Medical Clinical Center of the Western Region (city of Lviv), where he died on December 1, 2014. He was buried on December 5, 2014, at the cemetery of the urban-type settlement of Drabiv, Drabiv District, Cherkasy Region.
