Сергій Олександрович. Щербак

Born on June 22, 1961, in the city of Kremenchuk, Poltava region. In 1977, he graduated from the 8th grade of secondary school No. 16 in Kremenchuk, then attended vocational technical school No. 6 in Kremenchuk. He served his mandatory military service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the USSR. He worked as a locksmith at the Kremenchuk bus depot, at the Kryukov railway car building plant (Kremenchuk), and in private firms. In the spring of 2014, he was mobilized as a volunteer into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a service number in the 95th Separate Airborne Brigade of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0281, Zhytomyr). Since 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On March 16, 2015, around 16:00, soldier Shcherbak was killed in the area of the city of Avdiivka, Donetsk region, as a result of enemy artillery fire while holding positions during an attempt by terrorists to break through from the city of Yasynuvata, Donetsk region. On March 19, 2015, he was buried in the Sector of Fallen Heroes of the Anti-Terrorist Operation at the Svyshtov Cemetery in Kremenchuk.
