Василь Євгенійович. Мішкевич (Тьоркін)

Soldier Vasyl Mishkevych (call sign Tyorkin) was killed on May 8, 2022, as a result of an air strike in Mariupol, Donetsk region. The defender was 45 years old. Vasyl was born in the village of Kamianyi Brid in the Zhytomyr region. After the 9th grade, he entered the Baranov Vocational and Technical School No. 11. He studied to be a carpenter-carpenter. In 1996-2009, he worked as a specialist at the agricultural enterprise "Komunar", then was a riveter in the assembly and welding shop, a worker in the open-hearth shop at the Azovstal metallurgical plant, and a carpenter at the "Metalurgbud" enterprise. On April 24, 2020, he signed a contract with the special purpose detachment "Azov". After the start of the full-scale invasion, he defended Mariupol. "Until February 24, 2022, everything was good for us. We lived happily, made plans for the future. With the start of the full-scale invasion, Vasya, together with his comrades-in-arms, went to defend Mariupol. For a whole month, we did not know where he was and what was happening to him. There was no communication - neither with us nor with him. Then it was possible to contact through his comrade-in-arms. He said that Vasya was at Azovstal. Later, the connection was established. We communicated every day. But he did not want to talk about what was happening there. On May 8, at 10:37, the man wrote to his daughter: "I'm doing well." And again he did not get in touch. And on May 18, I found out that Vasya had was killed that day. We still don't believe it," Tetyana Mishkevych, Vasyl's wife, said. Vasyl and Tetyana lived together for 19 years. They met at the market. They communicated, became friends, and then decided to live together. They were married on April 24, 2004. And they got married on December 27, 2011, on Vasyl's birthday. "He was an incredible husband and father. We raised our daughter Masha. The husband was very much looking forward to her appearance. He loved her with all his heart. Since childhood, she was her father's 'tail'. Wherever he went, he took her with him. We were always and everywhere together, supported each other in all life's trials. Vasya dreamed of building his own workshop and creating furniture. His woodworking machines are still standing at home, reminding us of what we planned and built together. A lot was done at home with his own hands, even a gazebo. The husband loved sports. He was a very kind and honest person, a friend who would always come to help," Tetyana Mishkevych shared. The warrior is survived by his wife and daughter. Vasyl Mishkevych was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
