- 33-year-old communications specialist Vlas Lisnyi (call sign Yol) was killed on September 5, 2022 in Donbas. He and his comrades came under missile fire. Vlas was born in Kharkiv. He graduated from the Department of Media Communications of the Faculty of Sociology at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. He worked as a domain coordinator and project manager in the IT field, but also had experience as a foreman in construction and as a design engineer. In his free time, he managed his own small cafe and helped his wife with a German language school. He said he had been collecting and honing various skills all his life to apply them in the war. He spoke English and German fluently, trained at the gym, and roller-skated. With the start of the full-scale war, Vlas took his pregnant wife and daughter to the border, and then went to the military enlistment office. He joined the 68th Separate Yager Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush. He was a communications specialist and chief technician. He was the first in the brigade to set up Starlink. He took the call sign Yol, which was a shortened version of his daughter Yolanda's name. While Yol was at the front, his wife gave birth to their second daughter Ursula. The father saw her only via video call. Unfortunately, they never got to meet. "He took me, pregnant, and our daughter from Kharkiv to the border, we traveled almost a week, and he immediately went to the military enlistment office. He said that soon the Armed Forces of Ukraine would win and he would come for us right away. Now he is the angel of our daughters. It's hard to breathe without him," his wife Viktoria said. "Vlas loved to eat gummies, take photos on film, and listen to Jack White. He earned several higher educations and tried out many different professions, taught German and developed several businesses. He loved to make faces at his daughter and always made everyone around him laugh," the page of Karazin Kharkiv University wrote. The defender was buried in his native Kharkiv. Vlas is survived by his wife and two daughters.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
