Юрій Олександрович. Лисоконь (Добродій)

Senior Sergeant Yuriy Lysokon (call sign Dobrodiy) was killed on May 8, 2022, as a result of a direct airstrike in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region. The defender was 38 years old. Yuriy was born in the city of Burshtyn, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He graduated from the Rohatyn State Agricultural College with a driver's training program for category "C" vehicles. He worked as an assistant excavator operator at the Burshtyn TPP. In civilian life, he was engaged in video shooting. In 2015, he became a military videographer at the editorial office of the newspaper "Chorne Sontse" of the Azov regiment. He loved dogs. In 2016, he formed and led the canine unit of the Azov regiment.In 2019, during the battles at the Svitlodarsk Bulge, he sustained injuries to his leg and head, but continued to fulfill his duty to his homeland. During the full-scale Russian invasion, he held the position of chief sergeant of the sniper unit in the Azov Special Operations Regiment and defended Mariupol from the first days of the invasion. Yuriy Lysokon was awarded the honors "For Military Service to Ukraine," "For the Defense of Mariupol," and the Order of Courage III degree (posthumously). "Yura wrote to me: 'I have to be here, defending Ukraine...'. For me, Yura is a steel warrior with the kindest heart in the world. I admire his ability to always make wise decisions. He is honest, fair, and responsible. A wise man and father, a defender. I haven't heard Yura's voice since February 2022. For almost 10 years, Yuriy defended our state, remaining true to his beliefs and Ukraine. In our city, there is an inscription on a small building, the words of Ivan Franko: 'Just fight — do not make peace. Better fall — but do not betray!'. These words reflect Yura's soul. This is my eternal fighter, my brave warrior, the one who is ready to give his life so that we can live. Live in a free country," said his wife Natalia. Yuriy is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.
