Anatolii A. Vialyi

Vialyi Anatoliy Anatoliyovych was born on August 29, 1988, in the city of Nizhyn, Chernihiv Oblast. He studied at Nizhyn Gymnasium No. 10. He has been with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine since 2008. He worked as an instructor-rescuer in the search and rescue group of the search and rescue and parachute landing service of the special aviation squad of the operational rescue service of civil protection of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. On February 23, 2022, Anatoliy Vialyi began combat duty in search and rescue support within the unified system for conducting aviation operations for search, rescue, and firefighting at the Nizhyn airfield. On February 24, 2022, a massive missile strike was launched by the Russian Federation against the infrastructure of the city of Nizhyn. The enemy struck the command and dispatch point to disable or complicate the takeoff and landing of Ukrainian aircraft. Without leaving his post, Anatoliy Vialyi continued to perform his official duties with dignity and courage. A direct hit by a Kalibr-type cruise missile on the command and dispatch point where Anatoliy was located occurred around 5:30 AM. He was killed \on the spot from his injuries. For personal bravery and selfless actions demonstrated in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, Vialyi Anatoliy Anatoliyovych was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree.
