- Soldier Anatoliy Repey was killed on June 29, 2023, near the village of Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region. Together with a group of military personnel, he was carrying out a combat mission. When the soldiers were advancing forward in enemy territory, the defender stepped on an anti-personnel mine and sustained fatal injuries. The warrior was 48 years old. Anatoliy was born in the city of Zhmerynka, Vinnytsia region. In a large family, he was the middle son. He grew up curious and lively, and his father, who worked as a bus driver, was an example for him to follow. After school, he enrolled in the Vinnytsia Vocational and Technical School, specializing in "Central Communication Blocking," later obtaining the qualifications of a carpenter and electric welder. He served his compulsory military service at the Border Guard Service Training Center. He then held the position of a rifleman in a military unit in Lutsk, and later became a radio operator. Returning to civilian life, he worked abroad. In his free time, he loved fishing. He loved nature. He dreamed of a large house, which he eventually acquired and began to furnish. When the full-scale invasion began, Anatoliy was one of the first to join the ranks of the defenders of his native land. He was mobilized into one of the aviation brigades of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a radio operator in an anti-aircraft missile and artillery battery of one of the units that guarded and defended an important military facility. Comrades-in-arms will remember him as a serious, lively, initiative-taking, hardworking, and responsible man. In early 2023, Anatoliy, along with his unit, was seconded to the consolidated rifle brigade of the Air Force. After intensive training in fire and combat training, tactical medicine, tactics of combat operations, and coordination, the warrior set off to the front lines of defense. His unit carried out tasks in the Donetsk direction. Together with the marines, the warriors defended the entrusted frontiers from massive attacks by the enemy, engaging in fierce battles with the occupiers. Performing combat missions, the Ukrainian military step by step liberated the occupied territories of their native Motherland. Anatoliy was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
