- 53-year-old Junior Sergeant Anatoliy Senkiv (call sign Semen) was killed on May 4, 2022, while performing a combat mission in the area of the village of Orikhove in Luhansk region. Anatoliy was born in the village of Bereslavka in Kirovohrad region. He graduated from the 10th grade of Vasylivka Secondary School. He stu at Kirovohrad Construction College. He served his mandatory military service. He worked as an operator of wastewater treatment facilities at Petryvka Correctional Colony No. 49. He loved to go fishing with his sons at the river and to pick mushrooms in the forest with his wife. After the start of the full-scale war on March 17, 2022, Anatoliy was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of commander of the anti-aircraft missile platoon of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after the Cossack Ataman Kosty Hordiienko. “A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother. He never feared any work, was always sincere and open. He loved to joke, which lifted everyone's spirits. He always spoke in his own words, never hid anything. He was genuine and straightforward. He loved his family very much and protected them. He worked his whole life to provide for his family, never complained about the difficulties, just joked, smiled, and went back to work... He went to war despite his age-related ailments, not hiding behind others' backs. He diligently defended his country, his family... My heart breaks with pain... We were so waiting for his call saying: ‘I AM ALIVE'... He is our defender, he is our Hero! He is the best dad in the world, always tried to provide for us, his children, and taught us everything... He just didn't teach mom and us, his children, how to be without him. It's hard to live a day without dad, my heart aches for what he went through,” said his daughter Natalia. Anatoliy Senkiv was buried in the village of Novyi Starodub in Kirovohrad region, where he lived for the last 12 years. The defender is survived by a sister, a wife, two sons, a daughter, and four grandchildren.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
