- Senior soldier Andriy Shyian (call sign Hora) was killed on November 12, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 26 years old. Andriy was born in Kyiv. He studied at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute but left his studies in 2015 during his second year. He decided to volunteer for the ATO in Donbas. He fought as part of the battalion named after General Kulchytsky. He returned after two years. All his subsequent activities were related to helping the military and veterans, and he also engaged in educational activities. He headed a public organization for veterans in the Obolon district of Kyiv. During the full-scale invasion, Andriy took up arms again to defend Ukraine. He was initially in the ranks of the capital's Territorial Defense Forces and later joined the National Guard of Ukraine. He was a machine gunner in the "Svoboda" battalion as part of the 4th Operational Purpose Brigade named after Hero of Ukraine Sergeant Serhiy Mykhalchuk. "From our first meeting, you became my person, and a little later - my boyfriend, best friend, fiancé, husband. We started living together when less than two weeks had passed since we met, and we got married after 3.5 months. Everything was fast and bright for us. From our first meeting, you said that as soon as there was a big war, you would immediately take up arms again to defend the country. You told me to be proud to be the wife of a warrior, and I was proud. Every day, every minute, every second. And I will be proud until my last breath. I knew what I was getting into when I accepted your proposal because it was you, the very person I had been waiting for all my life. You were my love, my fate, my person, my two-meter miracle, and my beloved right bun. And you always will be. Thank you for these almost ten months we spent together, my love. I believe that we will catch up in the next lives. Just find me there, I beg you," wrote the wife of the fallen, Ksenia. The defender was buried at the Alley of Heroes in the Lisove Cemetery in his native Kyiv. At home, his mother and wife were waiting for Andriy.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
