- 29-year-old paratrooper Andriy Yuzvak was killed on June 30, 2023 in the Serebryansk forestry, near the city of Kreminna in the Luhansk region. Together with his unit, he went to storm enemy positions, and contact with him was lost. The fate of the fighter was unknown to his relatives for a long time, and even now they do not know the details of his death. Andriy was born in the Bila Tserkva district of the Kyiv region. He was a resident of the village of Vesnyanka. From childhood, he was interested in technology, so after school he went to study at a vocational school to become a driver-mechanic. He had a talent for this, as he could disassemble and assemble a motorcycle, repair an engine, and was well-versed in electricity. After graduating from the school, he worked for a long time at a service station in the capital. Later, he returned to Bila Tserkva and got a job as a specialist at a furniture factory. He was the life of the company, had many friends with whom he loved to relax and fish. After the war, he wanted to start a family, but his main desire was to live in a free and peaceful country. With the start of the full-scale war, the furniture factory closed, and the guy was left without a job. His brother Vitaliy called him to work at the "Nova Poshta". In the summer of 2022, Andriy was hired there. In early October 2022, the man was mobilized and sent to study in the UK, where he mastered the profession of a grenadier. After returning, he joined the ranks of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade. The man met the New Year 2023 already at the positions in the Kreminna area. "Andriy was closed, we didn't know much about him. He didn't want to share anything about the war at all. He either said "Everything is fine" or "You don't need it." The character of the brother was hot, fiery. He always answered for his words, could stand up for himself and for others. But when he came home for a few days after half a year at the front, he was completely different. Restrained, focused, balanced," recalls Vitaliy Yuzvak. Andriy brilliantly proved himself during the fighting, so he was sent to study to become a platoon commander. And on June 20, 2023, Andriy Yuzvak was awarded the distinction of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Golden Cross". Andriy was also to receive the rank of sergeant. At the end of June, he returned to the unit, immediately took up the duties of the commander. But in his new status, he fought for only a week. On June 30, he went on his last combat mission. Only in October 2023, during the exchange of the dead, the body of the hero was returned to Ukraine. Relatives found out about this only in February 2024, when the DNA match was confirmed. On February 16, the military was buried in the village of Horodyshche-Pustovarivske in the Kyiv region. Andriy is survived by his relatives, close ones, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
