- 26-year-old junior sergeant Andrii Zhyhaylo (call sign Malyuk) was killed on June 13, 2023 near the village of Ivanivsʹke in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, the defender received an enemy bullet in the heart. Andrii was born and lived in Chervonohrad, Lviv region. He graduated from the Lviv Military College of the Sergeant Corps of the National Academy of Land Forces and the Volodymyr Pedagogical Professional College named after A.Yu. Krymskyi. In peacetime, he worked at a private enterprise and was also an employee of the "Nova Poshta" company. In 2015, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. With the start of the full-scale war, the man again unhesitatingly took up the defense of his country from the enemy. He served in the ranks of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During his service, the soldier was repeatedly awarded, in particular, with the "Steel Cross" badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and posthumously with the Order of Courage of the III degree. Andrii went to war consciously, leaving behind his wife and two young children, because he understood that defending his native land and people was his sacred duty. He was a true warrior, patriot, a model of indomitability and strength of spirit, willpower and unbreakability. Andrii was buried on the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in the village of Bendiuha, Lviv region. He is survived by his mother, brother, sister, wife, daughter and son.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
