- 35-year-old police lieutenant Anton Bilostotskyy (call sign Van Dam) was killed on June 29, 2024 in the Toretsk area of Donetsk region. The enemy approached the positions at close range, and close-quarters combat began. Artillery, mortars, and drones dropping ammunition were also in operation. As a result, Anton suffered gunshot and shrapnel wounds to the abdomen and left arm. He was evacuated to a stabilization point, but death was pronounced there due to massive blood loss. Anton was born in Lviv. He graduated from the Lviv Polytechnic National University. He lived in Ternopil. He worked as a window and door installer. He was well-versed in metal-plastic structures. He also worked at a window factory, holding positions as a quality controller, head of the quality control department, and head of the complaints department. He performed any task he undertook responsibly and meticulously. He always remained positive and believed in a better future. He devoted a lot of time to sports, but his main passion was travel. Together with his wife, he visited many countries and planned to travel more. During the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the defenders. He served in the joint assault brigade "Fury" of the National Police of Ukraine. He was a platoon inspector and a combat medic in the "Safari" assault regiment. In January 2024, Anton was awarded the honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "For Saved Life" because he saved dozens of lives at the front lines, conducting safe evacuations to stabilization points. And posthumously, he was awarded the medal "Defender of the Fatherland". "My husband was truly a man of great character. He always helped everyone, never refused. He saved the lives of the guys, his comrades thanked me for this at the funeral. He never lost his optimism. Until the last, he believed that he would live, even when they carried him wounded, he told the guys: 'Stop a little, rest, I will live anyway. Put the phone in your pocket, I'll call my wife now and say I'm in the hospital.' Our love was like something out of a fairy tale. We never argued in 10 years. Complete mutual understanding and support. Unfortunately, when my husband was on a combat mission, on the anniversary of our wedding, I had a dream where he told me he wouldn't return from the mission. I started panicking, calling his comrades, asking when they would take him out. On the morning of June 29, a friend reported that Anton was wounded, I immediately started packing to go to the hospital. But at noon I received the most terrible news. The world collapsed, because Anton was my life. Now I do everything to perpetuate his memory," Svitlana Bilostotskaпa said. The policeman was buried in the Pantheon of Heroes of the Mykulyntsi Cemetery in Ternopil. Anton is survived by his mother Halyna Pavlivna, brother Taras, and wife Svitlana.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
