- Sailor Artem Pasichnyk (call sign Shustry) died on January 23, 2023 in battle with the occupiers near the village of Vodiane in the Donetsk region. The defender was 34 years old. Artem was born in the village of Kostiantynivka, Mykolaiv region. He lived in Yuzhnoukrainska. There he graduated from school No. 4. In civilian life, he worked as a builder. He was interested in cars and loved to help his friends repair them. He dreamed of his own house. In 2014, he participated in the ATO as part of the 79th separate airborne assault brigade. Then he signed a contract and served in Berdychiv until 2018. After being discharged, he returned to civilian life, working in Kyiv - doing European-style renovations in apartments. With the start of the full-scale invasion, the man took up arms again and went to defend his country. He fought the enemy as part of the 36th separate marine brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynsky. He was a grenade launcher. "My brother was and remains an example of courage and patriotism for me. He always joked, and the company loved him. He had a good memory. His comrades-in-arms told me that he was like a "walking encyclopedia" for them. He loved his grandmother Lida and his nephews very much, always giving them toys and playing with them like a small child. He knew English well. In childhood, my brother saved the life of a boy who was drowning. Then everyone was scared, but he jumped into the water. Then even a thank-you letter came to the school for the saved life. That boy got a spinal injury and is now in a wheelchair, but is very grateful to be alive... Artem's friends said they were grateful to him for the protection and proud that they knew such a person. After Artem's death, friends from the Zhytomyr region came to say goodbye to him, even those guys who were with tubes and Ilizarov devices after severe wounds - they were all very saddened... All his comrades-in-arms still keep in touch with us and come to visit mother, they never forget to visit Artem at the cemetery. He was a good person with a kind heart, we miss him very much... Until the last, he believed in victory and a bright future, he always said that he was fighting for us and the future of our children. He was very intelligent, agile, cheerful and kind... The news of his death tore our hearts. For us, Artem will forever remain a Hero of Ukraine! Memory eternal... We will never forget. Our Hero is forever in our hearts," said the deceased's sister Arina. The marine was buried in the Alley of Glory cemetery in Yuzhnoukrainska. Artem is survived by his mother, two sisters, two nephews and a niece.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
