- Senior soldier Artem Atamanchuk (call sign Otaman) was killed on March 25, 2024 near the village of Urozhaine in the Donetsk region. In the battle with the enemy, he received a fatal explosive injury during an artillery bombardment. A month before this, on February 23, the defender turned 31 years old. Artem was born in the village of Mykulychi, Kyiv region. He lived in the village of Klavdievo-Tarasove in the Kyiv region for the last 10 years. He graduated from a vocational school and obtained the profession of a cook. In civilian life, he worked at a gas station, in a taxi service, and in construction. He was interested in sports, played football, and loved to drive a car. In 2017-2020, the man served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Joint Forces Operation. With the start of the full-scale war, Artem returned to the ranks of the defenders. He served in the Separate Presidential Brigade named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky. He was a scout. He received the awards "Golden Cross" and "Cross of the Brave". "Artem was a man with a big heart, kind, sincere, and cheerful. He was the one who would always come to help, who would never leave his loved ones, friends, and comrades in trouble, ready to be the first to go into battle, never retreating from the set goal," his wife Viktoria said. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the cemetery in his native village of Mykulychi. Artem is survived by his wife, mother, and sisters.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
