- Marine Artem Silibzhan (call sign Kherson) was killed on February 21, 2023 near Mariinka in the Donetsk region. During the evacuation of wounded comrades, Artem received a fatal injury as a result of a direct hit by an enemy shell. The defender was forever 27 years old. Artem was born in the city of Oleshky, Kherson region. He obtained the profession of an electric gas welder in a vocational school. He loved children and bicycle trips. In his free time, he often played with his nieces and nephews, who adored him. He personally made repairs at home, planned to arrange the yard of his dreams. He had an active civic position and loved Ukraine very much. When the full-scale war and the occupation of the Kherson region by Russian troops began, Artem did not hide his pro-Ukrainian position. Because of this, the occupiers detained him several times. Later, he was able to leave and immediately went to the military enlistment office. He joined the ranks of the 35th separate marine brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrohradskyy. He was a machine gunner. He took part in the defense of the Donetsk region. "I want the whole world to know that he left the occupation precisely in order to join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and defend the Motherland! Having contraindications and not serving in the military before, Artem during the medical examination misled doctors and the military enlistment office in order to defend his country from the enemy, while physically healthy men hide from the military enlistment office! They were constantly in zero positions. Every phone conversation was filled with his optimism and faith... The last thing he said was: 'I'll be home in the spring.' Unfortunately, it happened like this..." wrote the sister of the fallen Viktoria. The warrior was buried on the Alley of Heroes in Kherson. Artem is survived by his grandmother and sister.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
