Artem V. Mykhailenko

Artem Mikhailenko was killed on March 15, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission between the village of Ivanivske and the city of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region. The fighter was 43 years old. Artem was from the Mykolaiv region. He received an education, got married, and started a family. He worked in construction. In 2004, he fought in Iraq. For the last 10 years, he lived with his family in the city of Konotop in the Sumy region. With the start of the full-scale war, the man joined the local territorial defense. He became a fighter of the 151st separate battalion of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a machine gunner. "My uncle was very combative and took up the defense of Konotop on March 15, 2022. On the day of his death, he called his wife and said that they were suddenly raised from training and sent in an unknown direction. His last words were: 'In my life, there has been a lot of bad, the only thing I want to do is defend my land, my family, my people.' He always had an optimistic mood, not a drop of sadness or fear. In childhood, he carried me a lot in his arms. He really wanted to introduce me to his daughter. Now I know for sure that I will carry her in my arms, as he wished," said his niece Anastasia. The warrior was buried in Konotop. Artem is survived by his wife Olena, daughter Polina, brother Yuriy, sisters Halyna and Olha, and niece Nastia.
