Biography
Dmytro Artemii Mykhailovych was born on July 4, 1995 in Lviv. He studied at the Academic Gymnasium and the Physics and Mathematics Lyceum in Lviv. He graduated from the Faculty of Historical Sciences at the Ukrainian Catholic University. Since the age of 7, he was a member and pupil of the Ukrainian scouting organization "Plast". He was a member of the 69th Kurin named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky. He was a Kurinny (leader), educator, and member of the 15th Kurin of the Ukrainian Scouting Organization. He participated in the Revolution of Dignity. He was passionate about extreme sports: skydiving, skiing, and hiking. He also visited 50 countries around the world. With the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war, he volunteered for the special purpose unit "Azov", with which he participated in battles in the area of Shyrokyne village. Later, he transferred to the special purpose battalion "Harpun". After demobilization, he actively engaged in self-development and travel. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine on March 1, 2022, he returned from Brazil, where he had been skydiving from the Christ the Redeemer statue. Artemii exchanged his American Harley-Davidson motorcycle for an assault rifle, bought a bulletproof vest and helmet in the USA, and flew to Poland by bus to reach Ukraine. When the flight attendant asked why he was wearing a bulletproof vest, he replied, "I'm from Ukraine, it makes me feel safer." Upon arrival, he went to the defense of the capital, but ended up at the 142nd Special Operations Training Center in Berdychiv. He served together with the traveler Viktor-Mykola Havryliuk, his friend Dmytro Pashchuk, and People's Deputy Roman Lozynskyi. They jokingly called their quartet in the war the "Hawaiian TRO". They fought in the Kherson direction. He was killed on June 18, 2022 during a mortar attack in the village of Bila Krynytsia, Bereznehuvatskyi district, Mykolaiv region. On June 21, 2022, the funeral rite in the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Lviv was led by Bishop Volodymyr Gruca. During the funeral, Artemii's mother Ivanka Krypiakevych-Dymyd sang her son his last lullaby. He was buried at the Marsovoye Field in Lviv.Burial place
