Bohdan O. Mykulich (Markela)

Serviceman Bohdan Mykulich (call sign Markella) was killed on July 12, 2023, while performing a combat mission near the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. On August 7, the defender would have turned 32 years old. Bohdan was from the Vinnytsia region and lived in Kyiv. In 2013, he graduated from the Kyiv National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine. In civilian life, he worked in geodesy, later in his own business related to investments. He loved the theater, exhibitions, and art. He was passionate about shooting. Since February 24, 2022, he has been defending the sovereignty of Ukraine as part of the volunteer battalion "Brotherhood". He was a driver, performing logistical tasks for the headquarters. At first, he defended the Chernihiv direction, then the Izyum direction. Later, he was attached to the 8th battalion of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade. Since September 2022, he has been selected for the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Magura", participating in assaults in the Zaporizhia region. He was a driver-mechanic, later a rifleman-assault trooper. At the end of June 2023, he was transferred to the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade and went to the Donetsk direction. Posthumously, Bohdan was awarded the "Golden Cross" decoration of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
