- Soldier Boris Grubrin (call sign Kalmyk) was killed on July 10, 2022 in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Dementievka in the Kharkiv region. The warrior was 55 years old. Boris was from Kyiv. He graduated from the Kyiv State Institute of Physical Culture. Together with his wife, for 11 years he had his own taxi service business. Then they were engaged in insurance. The man was a regional manager of an insurance broker. In his free time he was engaged in gardening, loved to fish. He was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Boris volunteered - he evacuated people from Bucha, Gostomel, Irpin. And later he joined the 241st separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the summer, his unit was sent to the Kharkiv region. "He has two sons, both disabled since childhood. Boris at the age of 55 should have been with his sons, but the call of the heart - to defend his Homeland - turned out to be stronger than family circumstances. He said: "If my children cannot defend our country, then I, their father, must do it." Somewhere at the beginning of June, Borya, burly and strong, said: "Okay, my friend, you can relax now, you have a personal bodyguard for life." And a month later he was killed in battle. A deep, kind person. All his life he was a fighter and tireless fighter for justice. He loved his garden, where he grew wonderful delicious peaches. And even more - his family. It's very, very painful... For us, Boris will forever remain a hero. A hero who gave his life for the future, for the victory of Ukraine and the independence of our country. Glory to the Heroes!" - said his comrade Alexander with the call sign Vadimich. "He was very brave and fair. Loved his family, was a wonderful father. We also have a dog Knopa - this is his love, he himself said so, because Knopa was always with him. When the man said goodbye, going to the front line, he was very worried how she would miss him..." - shared his wife Alla. Due to the prolonged battles in that area of the Kharkiv region, the body of the Kalmyk was able to be removed only two months later, in September. The defender was buried at the Forest Cemetery in his native Kyiv. At home, Boris was awaited by his wife and two sons.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
