Biography
Kirichenko Danylo Kostiantynovich (callsign Wanderer) was born on October 20, 1996 in Luhansk, where he lived until 2014. After completing the 9th grade, he enrolled in the college of the East Ukrainian National University named after Volodymyr Dahl and studied to become an IT engineer. Being an opponent of the creation of the LPR, the 17-year-old youth went to fight as a volunteer, participated in the war in Eastern Ukraine as part of the Aidar battalion. The following year, he joined the special forces unit of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov", where he served as a grenadier. In 2015, he took part in the battles for the village of Shyrokyne near Mariupol. During the shelling of Danylo's position, he was wounded: one fragment hit him in the thigh, the other damaged his nose. The serviceman was evacuated by helicopter to a hospital in Dnipro. In civilian life, Danylo was an active football fan of the Luhansk "Zorya" team. At the turn of 2021-2022, he spent almost 9 months with his comrades-in-arms on the Svitlodarsk arc, where the defense line in Donbas was concentrated until February 24, 2022. There he received a second wound. During his service in "Azov", he completed officer and sergeant courses. He studied at the Donetsk National University and intended to grow in his military service. He did not see himself as anything other than a soldier. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Danylo Kirichenko was in Mariupol. Shortly before that, anticipating the invasion, he evacuated his wife and 1.5-year-old daughter to Dnipro. Together with his comrades-in-arms, they drove around Mariupol and carried out combat missions. When they withdrew to "Azovstal", they also went out to the city, worked and returned to the bunker. He died at night on April 15, 2022. An air bomb was dropped on the Azov positions, which collapsed the underground floors. During sleep, the servicemen were on the -3 or -6 floor. At least three people were killed. The bodies of Danylo Kirichenko and other fallen soldiers are still in the territory not controlled by Ukraine.Burial place
