Danylo V. Naumov (Naum)

Paratrooper Danilo Naumov (call sign Naum) was killed on March 31, 2022, from a bullet fired by an enemy sniper in a battle for the "Sherwood Forest" - a forest area east of the "Izyum - Slavyansk" highway. The defender was forever 22 years old. Danilo was from the city of Rubizhne, Luhansk region. In 2019, he graduated from the Rubizhne Polytechnic College named after O.E. Porai-Koshytsia, obtaining a merchandiser degree. During his studies, he worked at the "Nova Poshta". Since 2014, he has been a member of the organization "Pravaya Molod", then he was part of the "Right Sector". He was interested in computers. He loved sports, played handball and judo, and was interested in football. He collected stamps. In 2020, the young man went to military service in the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 90th separate airmobile battalion named after the Hero of Ukraine, Senior Lieutenant Ivan Zubkov, as part of the 81st separate airmobile brigade. He carried out combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation. During the full-scale war, he held the position of gunner-operator. From the first days of the invasion, together with his comrades-in-arms, he continued to contain and destroy the enemy in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. "The war takes the best... They said about him that he would have been a good officer. Danilo constantly wanted to prove something to someone. I told him that he should study to become an officer, then he wouldn't have to prove anything to anyone. It was his dream - to enter the Academy of Land Forces... On March 31, 2022, the weather was gloomy and rainy, the occupying forces were many times larger, the group in which Danilo was, engaged in battle. 15 occupants were destroyed and 8 were wounded. Danilo was killed on the spot by a sniper's bullet that hit him in the forehead. My friend and comrade-in-arms was an example for us, he never feared to bravely go into battle, he was courageous and brave, a devoted son of his country. They say that heroes do not die, but this is not so. They perish, perish for our future, for freedom and independence. And only in our hearts do they remain alive forever. He was a shining example of self-sacrifice and devotion to the country, he never boasted of his achievements, he was an example for his family and those around him. Danilo fought to the end for the honor and freedom of the Ukrainian people and all of Europe, he was faithful to the oath until his last breath," said the deceased's friend and comrade-in-arms. The young warrior was buried at the Ivanivsky cemetery near Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region. Danilo is survived by his grandmother, mother, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
