- Senior soldier Denys Bayev was killed on July 29, 2022, in the settlement of Olenivka, Donetsk region. Russian military personnel executed him along with other comrades-in-arms in the colony, blowing up one of the barracks. The defender was 24 years old. Denys was born in Zaporizhzhia. He grew up in an atmosphere of comfort and love of his family. He was curious and active. He was always able to come to the rescue. He was fair, generous, passionate, and strong. "Mischievous in his youth, fair and passionate. Denys went to gymnasium No. 107 in the 1st grade. Over the years of study, there was everything, but it only shaped him as a person with a big heart," said his sister Alina Zheleznova. After the 9th grade, Denys studied to be an electrician, but he had always dreamed of a military career. In 2018-2019, he served in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. After returning, he met Anastasia, the love of his life. In August 2020, he signed a contract with the 23rd Brigade of the Public Order Protection of the National Guard of Ukraine. Over the years of service, the brother has proven himself well. He participated in the ATO in the Mariupol direction. He met the full-scale invasion near Mariupol, stood up to defend the Motherland and defended the city. He held the position of grenade launcher assistant until being taken prisoner," added Alina. Denys loved animals very much. After the war, he planned to buy a large dog and a motorcycle. Now at home, a collection of motorcycle models is kept in memory of the defender. "The brother was engaged in sports and dreamed of a family," the sister said. "In February 2022, he proposed to his girlfriend, who, upon learning that he had been taken prisoner, came from Poland to Zaporizhzhia to wait for her beloved." "The war takes the best and those who needed to live and build their future," Alina noted. "There are no words to describe the pain of the family and the loss of the most precious in life. We honor and remember thanks to whom we live on this land! Heroes die. They are killed. But the memory will never fade. Glory to Ukraine!" During his lifetime, Denys asked that his body be cremated after his death. The relatives did so. The place of memory of the warrior was arranged at home in Zaporizhzhia. Denys was awaited by his parents, sister, fiancée, friends, and other relatives. The defender was awarded the medal "Participant of the ATO" and posthumously the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
