- Denis Ivanovych Dovhan was born on December 1, 1981, in the village of Cherepkivtsi, Hlyboka District, Chernivtsi Oblast. In 2000, Denis Dovhan pledged allegiance to the Ukrainian people. Over 20 years of military service, Master Sergeant Denis Dovhan established himself positively. He demonstrated high professional qualities in his service activities and always performed his official duties professionally in the area of responsibility of the border units of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Denis Dovhan, as part of a border unit, actively participated in detaining violators of border legislation during their attempts to illegally cross the border with Romania. In October 2022, Denis Dovhan, as part of the 1st Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, defended the territorial integrity on the eastern front of the country. Since March 12, 2023, the serviceman, as part of the rapid response border commandant's office No. 2, performed combat tasks in the Bakhmut direction. The enemy, using the entire arsenal of weapons and equipment, carried out continuous assault actions against the positions of Ukrainian defenders for three months. Under artillery and mortar shelling, as well as missile and air strikes, Denis demonstrated high professionalism while performing tasks. He worked harmoniously in a team and took responsibility for organizing personnel. On April 1, 2023, while in position, Master Sergeant Denis Dovhan, along with his comrades, engaged in fierce combat with the enemy in the area of the city of Bakhmut. Despite intense enemy shelling, the servicemen bravely and heroically held back the advance of the Russian Federation's forces. During the shelling of the fire position "Delta-25" in the area of the city of Bakhmut, Denis Dovhan sustained injuries incompatible with life. For personal courage and selfless actions displayed in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, Master Sergeant Denis Ivanovych Dovhan was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.Memory Book of the MIA System
