- Sergeant Dmytro Chirva (call sign Kozirnyi) was killed on August 16, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Bilohorivka in Donetsk region. The warrior was 38 years old. Dmytro was born in Zaporizhzhia. He graduated from school No. 100. Then he stu at the Zaporizhzhia State Engineering Academy. He worked as a manager in the field of construction and repairs. He was interested in modern technologies, loved music. He was fond of his city and its history. He was proud to come from a family of Cossacks. He was very sociable and artistic. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the 10th separate mountain assault brigade. He held the position of shooter. As part of his unit, he took part in the defense of Kyiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions. "Dmytro was an extraordinary person, such people are often called warriors of light. Honest, straightforward, and brave. He always sought justice and truth. One of his favorite phrases was: "People, like ships, some rot on the shallows, while others go out to sea even in a storm." When a full-scale war began in the country, he, without hesitation, went to the nearest military commissariat. A brave fighter and commander who always took care of his comrades. He said about himself: "I'm not a military man, I'm a warrior. And these are different things." And that was really the case. He was a descendant of his legendary great-grandfathers - Zaporizhzhia Cossacks. A true hero and a true warrior. The lack of significant military experience did not prevent him from fighting with dignity until his last breath with the occupiers," - told close friends. The defender was buried in the city of Horodenka, Ivano-Frankivsk region, where he lived for several months before the invasion. Dmytro left behind a son and a daughter.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
