- Soldier Dmytro Alexandrov (call sign Zlyi) was killed on October 12, 2023 near the settlement of Nevelske in the Donetsk region, defending Ukrainian land from Russian invaders. During the enemy assault, he received fatal injuries. The following month, on November 9, he would have turned 26 years old. Dmytro was born in the city of Dniprodzerzhynsk (now Kamianske) in the Dnipropetrovsk region. In 2016, he graduated from the West Dnipro Vocational Education Center. Since 2019, he has served under contract in the fire brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was engaged in sports and was passionate about motorcycles. He loved spending time with his friends. During the full-scale war, Dmytro fought for his country in the ranks of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. He was a flamethrower in the flamethrower platoon of the radiation, chemical and biological defense company. "I've known Dima for a long time. We caused a stir, did sports together, rode motorcycles. I took him to my unit. He was positive, rarely in a bad mood. He always thought about the guys, never afraid to go into battle. He was my best friend. There are no such friends anymore, when you're with him everywhere... And then he was killed in battle as a hero and killed a lot of invaders in the end," said his comrade and friend Bohdan. "What I liked most about Dima was his sincerity and openness, he always spoke directly: both good and bad. A person who didn't spread gossip behind your back. You could always rely on such a comrade, he could help in everything. His jokes could be written down in a notebook, he always said something... In a word, he was the best person," added his friend and comrade Ivan. The deceased's cousin Sofia Novoselets wrote about her brother: "Our warrior is forever 25... We prayed for you every night, but still the cursed war took you away... You will forever be a Ukrainian hero! He was so kind... But now you're looking at us from heaven... You set an example of courage for others! Dima, you are our hero forever, no more words are needed..." The warrior was buried on the Alley of Heroes in his hometown. Dmytro is survived by his father, sister, aunt, uncle, cousins, grandmother, other relatives, friends and comrades.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
