Biography
Dmytro Mykolaiovych Stelmakh was born on September 25, 1982 in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. In 1997, he graduated from the 9th grade of Kryvyi Rih Secondary School No. 74. He was interested in boxing. He enrolled in the Kryvyi Rih Coke and Chemical College of the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine. He graduated in 2001 and worked at the "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" enterprise until the beginning of the full-scale Russian aggression. In 2009, he enrolled at the Kryvyi Rih National University. In 2014, he obtained a degree in "Mechanical Engineering". He worked as a maintenance mechanic in the converter shop, repairing the company's power equipment. Before the war, he transferred to Technical Group No. 3 for the repair and maintenance of power equipment, which was created as a pilot project. Dmytro's military service began in 2003 as part of the 17th Separate Tank Brigade, where he received the specialty of senior mechanic-driver of medium tanks. With the beginning of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation in February 2022, he went to the military enlistment office and joined the ranks of the Ukrainian army. Until mid-June 2022, he served in the security company of the Saksahanskyi District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support of the Dnipropetrovsk region, holding the position of grenadier. On June 15, 2022, he was transferred to the 58th Separate Rifle Battalion to the position of commander of the anti-tank guided missile platoon. He carried out combat missions near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. He was killed on October 6, 2022 while performing another combat mission in the area of the village of Veselа Dolyna on the outskirts of Bakhmut.- m. Kryvyi Rih, central cemetery
