Volodymyr Kukhar, deputy commander of the battalion: "Graduated from a vocational school for railway transport. Worked as a driver of electric transport in the Kyiv metro. Previously served in the army. One of the first in the 12th battalion to enter Chervonyi Yar. Carried out tasks to guard the platoon stronghold on the banks of the Siverskyi Donets. Was a passionate supporter of Kyiv's Dynamo. Did not drink, did not smoke. An optimist with a clear life position. Was of short stature. Always smiled. Wore a T-shirt that said 'Freedom for Ukraine or death!'. Had a childishly pure, friendly gaze that always radiated warmth."Military service
