Dmytro O. Puchkov

42-year-old sniper Dmytro Puchkov was killed on May 19, 2024 while performing his duties near the settlement of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. Until September, the defender was considered missing. Dmytro grew up in the village of Myrne, Odesa region. He worked a lot from childhood. He took on contracts - weeding beets by the hectare, growing corn, and also helped his parents around the house. He loved nature and animals. He went to church. He studied for two years at a theological school in Moscow. After returning, he completed the 10th and 11th grades externally and went to the army, serving in the artillery. He did not want to study further, went to Odesa, where he worked at various jobs, and for his soul he served in the church as a reader. In 2014, he got a job at "Nova Poshta". In his free time, he went to the Red Cross office, where he volunteered. He was a regular blood donor. He helped animals. He tried to go to his mother in the village and help around the household. On March 13, 2024, Dmytro was mobilized. During training, he received the specialty of a sniper shooter. And then he fought in one of the brigades of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the East. "He really wanted to start a family, even if his chosen one already had three of her own children. Dima renovated the whole house, did everything, equipped it with appliances, prepared - so that one day they would all live together, comfortably and happily. When he was home for the last time, he steamed in the bath, which he loved, and ate deliciously. Then he said goodbye to his cows and animals and left for the unit," said the mother of the fallen. The paratrooper was buried in his native village. At home, his mother Marina Volodymyrivna was waiting for the defender. In October 2024, a memorial plaque in memory of Dmytro Puchkov was installed in his native village of Myrne.
