Dmytro S. Kaminskyi (Khyzhak)

Paratrooper Dmytro Kaminsky (call sign Predator) was killed on April 26, 2022, near the village of Kurulka in the Kharkiv region. The warrior received fatal injuries during a two-hour battle with the occupiers when his group was breaking through to help their comrades. In March, the defender turned 26 years old. Dmytro was born in the village of Malye Verbkі in the Rivne region. He lived with his family in the village of Korost from childhood. He stu at the local lyceum. Then he graduated from Sarny Higher Vocational School No. 22, received a degree in gypsum board construction. As a teenager, he became interested in weapons and military operations. In his free time, he loved to collect mushrooms and go fishing. He was sociable, had many friends. In 2019, Dmytro signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and became a fighter of the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. During training, he made 28 parachute jumps. From 2021, he began to perform combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation in Donbas. The full-scale invasion met the fighter together with his comrades. From the first day of the great war, he bravely and courageously fulfilled his military duty. The company in which Dmytro served, the occupiers called "Demons". "They appear from nowhere and disappear somewhere, leaving behind dozens of dead," the enemies said in intercepted conversations. Predator held the position of commander of the rapid response group. On the eve of his death, his unit was withdrawn for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale war. But Dmytro voluntarily stayed on the position. He with a weapon in his hands, like a true warrior. "Although I am Dmytro's stepfather according to documents, I was his father. Fate gave me such a son at the beginning of 2005. They say you love all children the same, but with Dmytro we had extraordinarily warm, friendly relationships. There was not a day when we did not talk. Wherever he was: on training, at work, on vacation. I love him infinitely, I miss him, I cannot accept the loss," said Vitaliy Dubynets. Dmytro was buried in the village of Korost in Rivne region. On the eve of his death, he sent his father photos that he asked to be placed on the monument in case of his death. Dmytro is survived by his parents, four brothers, and a sister. The youngest brother, 9-year-old Denis, says he will be a paratrooper, like Dmytro. Senior soldier Dmytro Kaminsky was posthumously awarded the Orders of Courage III and II degrees. The first award for participating in the storming of the outskirts of Gorlovka was to be received by him while alive at the end of February 2022, but the decree was signed in May 2022.
