- Senior soldier Dmytro Atroshenko (call sign Dymaz) was killed on July 22, 2023 near the village of Novovodiane in the Luhansk region. While performing his duties to protect Ukraine, he received a fatal injury during an artillery bombardment. The defender was 36 years old. Dmytro was from the city of Horodnia in the Chernihiv region. In 2004, he graduated from local Lyceum No. 1. A year later, he obtained the qualification of a plasterer-mason at the Chernihiv State Vocational School No. 18. From the age of 17, he worked as a construction worker. Later, he worked as a builder, concrete worker, stonemason, and built houses in Ukraine and abroad. His last job was at LLC "Eurokon", where he held the position of a reinforcement worker. He was interested in cars, loved dogs, but had little time for the things he liked. From the beginning of May 2022 to May 2023, Dmytro fought for Ukraine as part of the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. He participated in battles in the Donetsk, Kharkiv and Luhansk regions. According to his relatives, he repeatedly saved the lives of his comrades, pulling the wounded and the dead off the battlefield. Due to the lack of vehicles in the brigade, he evacuated his comrades in his own car. He saved the company commander, delivering him to the hospital in Bakhmut in time. Together with a comrade, he repelled a group of saboteurs in the village of Odradivka at night. He participated in assault operations in the area of the village of Pokrovske. During the performance of another combat mission, he received a concussion. Risking his own life, he always covered the backs of his comrades, leaving the positions last. In May 2023, he was transferred to the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade as an operator-gunner. He continued to destroy the enemy and defend his country. "My Dimka is a fair and reliable man. He served at the front for 1 year and 1.5 months. He helped all his comrades without fail. He had his own Mazda car, with which Dimka saved many lives, which is why they gave him the call sign Dymaz," said the warrior's wife Alesia. The soldier was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the cemetery in his hometown. Dmytro is survived by his mother, wife, son, grandfather and grandmother.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
