Dmytro V. Volzhanin

Senior soldier Dmytro Volzhanin was killed on June 19, 2022 while carrying out a combat mission in the Luhansk region. He was considered missing for over 1.5 years. He was forever 29 years old. Dmytro was born in the city of Chervonohrad (now Sheptytskyi) in the Lviv region. He obtained the profession of an electric gas welder at the local professional mining and economic college. He then studied at the Novovolynsk College. In civilian life, he worked at a window manufacturing company. He was fond of sports: billiards, football, chess. He also loved fishing. During the full-scale Russian invasion, on April 1, 2022, the man went to defend his Motherland. He fought in the ranks of the 3rd Luhansk Border Guard Unit of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He participated in the defense of the Luhansk region. He was awarded the "Cross of the Hero" medal. "If I were asked what absolute and unconditional kindness looks like, I would show a photo of my brother," said the sister of the deceased Magdalyna Volzhanina. Dmytro was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in the village of Bendiuha in the Lviv region. At home, his mother and two younger sisters were waiting for their defender.
