Biography
Dmytro Viktorovych Zabuzhnyi was born on July 10, 1995, in the village of Turbiv in Vinnytsia region. After finishing the 9th grade at Turbiv Secondary School No. 2, he enrolled in the Vinnytsia College of the National University of Food Technologies, specializing in "Computer Networks and Systems Maintenance." In 2015, Dmytro signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 101st Separate Communications Regiment. After training, he was assigned to the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade as a scout. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Eastern Ukraine. He loved animals very much, especially dogs. During his service, he always fed them. He even brought one of the animals home from the training ground. In 2017, his contract expired. For a while, Dmytro decided to return to civilian life. He got married and began trying his hand at various professions. However, he could not find his calling and in 2019 signed a contract with the National Guard of Ukraine. The following year, he fulfilled his dream and transferred to the Azov Regiment. He served in Mariupol, where he experienced the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Despite the deteriorating situation, heavy fighting on the outskirts of the city, and a lack of weapons, food, and medical supplies, Dmytro maintained the calm of his loved ones and never complained about the difficult circumstances. He was killed on March 26, 2022, during the defense of Mariupol in Donetsk Oblast. His body could only be returned home and buried with honors eight months after his death. Dmytro is survived by his parents, wife, and younger brother.Burial place
