- Sergeant Eduard Shevchyk was killed on February 11, 2024 in a battle near the village of Havrylivka in the Donetsk region. The defender was 29 years old. Eduard was born in the village of Medvedivka, Cherkasy region, but grew up in the village of Trushivtsi. He had two brothers, whom his mother raised on her own. He studied at the Trushivska school. Then he graduated from the Cherkasy Higher Vocational Lyceum No. 17, obtaining the profession of an electrician for lighting and lighting networks. In 2014-2018 he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, first as a conscript, and then signed a contract. After being discharged, he moved to Kyiv and got a job at Nova Poshta, where he worked for over 3 years. He loved active recreation. He adored traveling, swimming in the river, and walking in Chyhyryn. He loved his region very much. He had engineering skills and could repair any device, even a smartphone. In March 2022, the man voluntarily went to military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade. He held the position of operator of the electronic warfare department. At first, he took part in the liberation of the Kyiv region. Over time, he fought in the Donetsk and Zaporizhia directions. Eduard met his fate there, on the front line. His beloved worked as a psychologist in the military unit where the young man served. The feelings were mutual. In July 2022, the couple got married and had a wedding in Kyiv. In April 2023, the couple had a son. However, the man saw the baby for only two days. The young father did not return from the front. In the autumn, the brigade was redeployed to defend the Donetsk region. Eduard said he could not take leave, leave his people in hell, or weaken the cover. He had over 10 concussions and was already speaking poorly before his death. "He told me: little one, you will grow up, I will take you to work with me at Nova Poshta. The company is good, he had a lot of fun there, the pay was good, he made friends with the people. He worked well, responsibly, had prospects: in the last period he was actually performing the duties of a senior operator and was waiting to be officially promoted. He was brave, courageous, very responsible, treated his people well, had high combat results - this is how the leaders spoke about him... Eduard had two unfulfilled dreams: to raise his son and see America. Unfortunately, little Timofiy will never feel his father's embrace," said the brother of the fallen Nazar. The paratrooper was buried in his native village. At home, Eduard was awaited by his wife, son, loving family, and friends.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
