- Marine Gennady Dobransky (call sign Father) was killed on June 5, 2023 during assault operations near the settlement of Urozhaine in the Donetsk region. The defender was 49 years old. Gennady was born in the village of Oleksandrivka, Mykolaiv region. He received secondary education at the Oleksandrivka school. He then enrolled in Voznesensky Vocational School No. 18, where he studied to become an electrician. In 1992, he was drafted for military service and enlisted in the Black Sea Fleet. After two years, he was discharged from military service with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After his service, he changed several professions until in 2006 he got a job with the railway, where he worked as a 4th class track maintainer. In his free time, he loved to read, preferring adventure and historical literature with descriptions of the world's cultural monuments. He also enjoyed watching old movies and French comedies. He led a healthy lifestyle, waking up early to do physical exercises. On January 14, 2023, Gennady was mobilized into the Ukrainian Navy. He took the position of platoon sergeant in the 37th Separate Marine Brigade. "He was the only son of his parents. A good, caring, loving man and father. He was kind and cheerful, loved to joke. But despite his cheerful nature, he was responsible, did not like to be late, and had a good memory. He always stood up for justice and was ready to come to the aid of others. He was loved and respected by his family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances. He easily made new acquaintances, was open and sincere in communication. He saw only the good in people. Above all, he loved his family. But the full-scale invasion forced him to first join the local Territorial Defense Forces and then the Marines. 'Always faithful' is the motto of the Marines, and he was exactly that. He was faithful to his family, relatives, friends, comrades, and country. He never complained, constantly worked on improving his military skills. He dreamed of peace and returning home. About how we would celebrate the weddings of our children and wait for future grandchildren, whom he planned to love and spoil," shared the fallen defender's wife, Lyubov. Gennady was buried in his native village of Oleksandrivka. The defender is survived by his parents, wife, daughter and son.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
