Hennadii Ya. Siukh

Senior soldier Hеnnаdiy Syukh was killed on May 24, 2022 between the villages of Bilohorivka and Volodymyrivka in the Donetsk region. The tank crew of Ukrainian soldiers went on a combat mission. During the final shots, the tank was hit by an enemy anti-tank guided missile. The crew was killed instantly. Hеnnаdiy was born and lived in Kyiv. He obtained the profession of a locksmith at a vocational school. He worked as a manager of an auto parts sales warehouse, a driver, and later as a master in the manufacture and repair of yachts. From childhood, he was passionate about seafaring, had friends with whom he regularly went out to the Kyiv Sea on a sailing yacht and participated in amateur sailing competitions. He was an active citizen, participating in patriotic rallies and protests. In 2015-2016, he took part in the ATO in Donbas. He voluntarily went to serve in the tank troops, was an operator-gunner of the T-64 tank, served on the line of contact in the Volnovakha area in Donetsk region. After demobilization, he worked as a master at an automobile plant in Slovakia. After the start of the full-scale invasion, Hеnnаdiy immediately returned to his homeland and on February 26, 2022 came to the Svyatoshinsky military registration and enlistment office. He joined the 1st separate Siverian tank brigade and went to the front line. He was the commander of the T-64BM "Bulat" tank. "He never stood aside from injustice, always kept his word, was a courageous man, and twice without any doubt stood up to defend our Motherland. He had extremely good health, walked dozens of kilometers through the Tatra Mountains in Slovakia every week. He put his own family above everything else, taught his children to stick together. Relatives and friends will never be able to come to terms with the death of such an extraordinary personality and wonderful person. The family and friends valued his golden hands and sharp mind. He was distinguished by the ability to find a way out even from the most hopeless situations," wrote the deceased's son Artem. The hero was buried at the Lukyanivske cemetery in his native Kyiv. Hеnnаdiy is survived by his mother, son and daughter.
