- Senior Soldier Igor Khramtsov (call sign Old, Mikhalich) died on September 3, 2024 in a hospital in the city of Dnipro. On September 2, the warrior received severe injuries while performing a combat mission in the Pokrovsk direction. The defender was 52 years old. Igor was born in Mykolaiv. From childhood, he was engaged in fencing, was a medalist in Ukrainian and international competitions, a master of sports in fencing. All his life he supported the Ukrainian fencing and sports communities. He led an active lifestyle, played football, and rode a bicycle. In civilian life, he worked at a food processing plant. He valued quality music, good literature, and interesting films. In March 2022, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He served in the 19th Regiment of Public Order Protection. "I wanted people to know about the person who was cheerful, active, open, honest, and hardworking all his life. Dad always helped and supported everyone, even in difficult times. He had many friends with whom they had been together since childhood, and everyone valued him as a good and faithful comrade and a wonderful person. He supported all his comrades-in-arms, many of whom were still young guys, so my father became an older comrade whom they respected and valued. At the beginning of the full-scale war, he took up arms and without any doubt voluntarily went to defend the Motherland. During these years, he miraculously escaped death several times. A unique story happened on March 29, 2022, when an enemy missile hit the building of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration. On that day, my parents were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. After the night duty at the checkpoint, the father was supposed to stay overnight in the OVA building, but he did not go to sleep, but early in the morning went for flowers to come home for a moment and congratulate mom - it was their tradition. He came to the flower market, but it was still closed. Dad decided to wait there, although he could have returned to the OVA and slept a little more. He waited, bought flowers, and went home to congratulate mom. At that moment, the occupant's missile hit the OVA building, where his young comrades-in-arms perished. This situation had a very strong impact on our family and father, we were once again convinced of what we are fighting for. Until the last minute, he honored the memory of the fallen comrades-in-arms and fought for them. Father very much wanted to be useful in this war, to win our freedom, so that we and future generations would not know what war is and no one would face such suffering," said the warrior's daughter Maria. The defender was buried in his hometown. Igor left behind a wife, son, and daughter.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
