Biography
Ihor Mykolaiovych Pasko was born on June 4, 1969, in the village of Bodakva, Lohvytsia district, Poltava region, in a family of a driver and a nurse. He was the youngest of three sons. In 1984, he graduated from Bodakva Secondary School, after which he studied at Hlynsk Vocational and Technical School, where he acquired the profession of a tractor driver. He served his mandatory military service in the border troops and received the rank of sergeant. Since 1993, he lived in the city of Lohvytsia and worked as a fitter at the Lohvytsia branch of JSC "Poltavaoblenergo" until 2001. In 2014, with the onset of Russian aggression, he volunteered as part of the Sumy Border Detachment to defend his homeland. He was a grenadier and had the call sign "Hrom." He participated in battles for the city of Ilovaisk and in the defense of the city of Maryinka. In 2016, he returned to civilian life and his favorite occupation. He was a well digger, a trade he inherited from his father and grandfather. From the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he stood up to defend his country. He was an artilleryman in the 2nd self-propelled artillery battery of the 2nd self-propelled artillery division of the brigade artillery group of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporizhzhia Cossacks. He was a loader for the howitzer. On March 9, 2022, in the village of Liutizh, Vyshhorod district, during the battles for Kyiv, Ihor's battery repelled an attack by Russian tanks. Four armored vehicles were successfully destroyed, but during the repositioning of the battery, two enemy helicopters dropped shells. Ihor sustained a fatal head injury. He was buried on March 12, 2022, in the village of Bodakva in Poltava region.Burial place
