- Sergeant Igor Lyushyn (call sign Luke) was killed on April 24, 2023 near the village of Chervonopopivka in the Luhansk region. While performing a combat mission, he received a fatal injury as a result of enemy artillery shelling. The defender was forever 32 years old. Igor was born in Rivne. He grew up in the village of Nevirkov, Rivne region. There he studied at school. Then he graduated from Rivne State Pedagogical University, obtained the qualification of a physical education teacher. Since 2017, he lived with his family in Mariupol, Donetsk region. In civilian life, he worked in the construction industry, laying paving stones on public facilities. He was passionate about volleyball and making various products. He loved children and often visited orphanages. On February 24, 2022, Igor left Mariupol with his family. When he was convinced that his family was safe, he went to the military commissariat. Subsequently, he was mobilized into the 1st separate special purpose brigade named after Ivan Bohun. He served in the 518th separate special purpose battalion "Wild Field". Together with his comrades-in-arms, he fought in the Kherson, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Luhansk regions. He participated in assaults and liberation of territories. "He was incredible! Kind, sincere, generous, smiling, always responding to requests for help. A person of conscience and high moral principles. He loved God and people. He was a faithful comrade, a brave warrior, a caring husband and dad. All 10 months at the front, he was on 'zero', without a single rotation. Even after concussions, when he didn't feel well, he couldn't be persuaded to go to the doctor, because he didn't want to leave the guys, as there was no one to replace him... He never liked attention and status. But he deserves them! When we left Mariupol on February 24, he did not try to hide, 'get lost' in the new place... He always feared God more than people!" - said the wife of the fallen Diane. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the "Novoe" cemetery in his hometown. The warrior is survived by his parents, two brothers, wife and two children. Igor was posthumously awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Rivne".Memory Platform 'Memorial'
