Ihor O. Soloviov (Shkiet)

Solovyov Igor Oleksandrovych was born in Dovzhansk, Luhansk Oblast. He studied at local school No. 6 until 5th grade, after which he entered the I. H. Kharytonenko Cadet Corps in Sumy, and later continued his studies at Luhansk Gymnasium No. 60. From childhood, he was involved in swimming and football, and also loved animals, so he went to study at the Cynology College, where he obtained the profession of a dog handler. In Luhansk, he played football for one of the local teams. In 2019, he moved to Kyiv and began attending the fan sector of the Luhansk "Zorya" team. In May 2020, Igor Solovyov became a fighter of the separate special purpose unit of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov", and took part in sports competitions as a representative of the regiment. He held the position of operator of the 2nd anti-tank platoon of the fire support platoon of the 1st operational company of the 1st operational battalion of the separate special purpose unit of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov". Igor met the full-scale invasion together with his comrades-in-arms in Mariupol, where he stood to defend the city. The last message from the besieged Mariupol, his parents received on March 20, and on April 11, 2022, Igor Solovyov was killed during the fighting. The news of the defender's death was received by his relatives only on April 24. Igor Solovyov was buried at the Lukyanivsky cemetery in Kyiv.
