- Sergeant Igor Yurchyshyn (call sign Flag) was killed on October 20, 2022 in battle with the occupiers near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received fatal gunshot wounds. In September, the fighter turned 52 years old. Igor was a native of the village of Yasen, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He lived in the Zaporizhia region. He obtained the profession of a refrigeration equipment operator at the Melitopol SPTU No. 37. He also graduated from the school of warrant officers in Zolochiv. He worked as a shift supervisor at LLC "Mokryansky Stone Quarry-3". In his free time, he loved to fish. The man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine on March 8, 2022. He served in the 93rd separate mechanized brigade "Kholodny Yar". He was the senior sergeant of the platoon. From the first days of service, he defended the hottest fronts. "My husband was a kind and caring person. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a very positive and courageous person. Igor was a man of his word, always helping everyone who needed it. From the first days of the war, he helped the orphanage: buying diapers, medicines, treats. He was always collected, brave, courageous, faithful to his state - a true warrior. He did not shy away from hard work. He fought for his country to be free and independent - for this he gave his life," said Natalia Yurchyshyna. The hero was buried in the village of Natalyvka, Zaporizhia region, where he lived with his family. Igor is survived by his mother, wife, four children, four grandchildren, four brothers, two sisters, relatives and friends.
