- Junior Sergeant Ihor Sasiuk (call sign Hvyntyk) was killed on April 7, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission in the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhia region. He was transporting ammunition from an old dugout. One of the rounds he was holding was hit by a fragment from the drop of an enemy drone. The warrior sustained fatal injuries. Ihor was 34 years old. He was born in the village of Mankivka, Cherkasy region. He studied at the National Pedagogical University named after Mykhailo Drahomanov, obtaining a degree as a history teacher. In civilian life, he worked as a manager of a Nova Poshta branch in Kyiv, then at the Jusk store, and later had his own business in the field of active recreation and tourism. In his free time, he loved to go with a metal detector, explore historical heritage, and make accessories from natural leather. During the full-scale invasion, he joined the defense of Ukraine, becoming part of the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He held the position of external pilot-operator and was a squad commander. He was awarded the "Golden Cross" badge and the "Participant in Combat Operations" medal. "Positive and kind, he always came to the aid of his friends. Hardworking, courageous and fearless. A wonderful comrade, a loving husband and father. Legendary in his environment, one of the best pilots in his brigade. He had the most flight hours according to the internal rating, distinguished by precise drops from the 'Matrice'," said his wife Iryna Sasiuk. The warrior was buried in the new cemetery in the village of Orativ, Vinnytsia region, where he lived. Ihor is survived by his wife, daughter, parents, brother, and friends.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
