- Ivan Pavlyshyn, a scout, was killed on December 20, 2022, during a mortar attack near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The fighter was 28 years old. Ivan was born in the village of Zaverushytsia, Lviv region. He stuwas killed at the educational complex "Berehynia" there. He then graduated from the Lviv Vocational Lyceum of Railway Transport. He worked for the Lviv Railway. Later, he was drafted into the regular military service, during which he realized that he wanted to remain in the army. Since 2013, he has served under contract in the ranks of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo. Since 2014, he has fought first in tank troops, then in the reconnaissance unit. He participated in the liberation of Yampil in the Donetsk region and in the battles for the Luhansk region. When the full-scale Russian invasion began, Ivan defended the Donbas. He held the position of senior sergeant of the reconnaissance platoon of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade. In the battles for Popasna in the Luhansk region, he was wounded in the eye. After treatment, he returned to the front line. Senior Sergeant Ivan Pavlyshyn is a full cavalier of the Order of Courage, awarded in 2015, 2019, and 2022. He was an extraordinary person - persistent, honest, kind, extremely intelligent and prudent, and modest. He never gave up and always moved forward. He was respected and loved by everyone who knew him, and his comrades-in-arms followed him into battle with their eyes closed, trusting him so much. He was the best son, brother, boyfriend, and simply a person with a capital letter. Even when wounded, he could still comfort everyone around him. He was extremely positive and cheerful. He dreamed of getting married to his beloved girl and starting a strong Ukrainian family after the war.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
