Ivan R. Maznychka

Senior Sergeant Ivan Maznychka was killed on January 24, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Torske in the Donetsk region. He received a fatal shrapnel wound as a result of a hostile drone attack. The warrior was forever 30 years old. Ivan was from the village of Staryi Hvizdets, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He graduated from the Korshiv Vocational School and acquired the profession of agricultural machinery mechanic. He got married and moved to Kolomyia. He served under contract in the army until 2019. When he was discharged, he went to work abroad. When the full-scale war began, the man was at work. On February 25, 2022, he returned to his homeland. And just two days later, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to the front. He served in the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He held the position of head of the supply depot of the repair and recovery battalion. He took part in the liberation of the Kherson region and in the battles in the Donetsk region. "I thought there was no such sincere, sensitive and fair man until I met him. He was my everything: support, pillar, protection, joy. We were building joint plans for the future, but with the onset of the war, everything was put on pause... I wanted to protect you from the war. I wanted to, but I couldn't. Because when this war came to Ukraine, you said: "Well, who if not me?" - wrote the wife of the fallen defender Mariia Maznychka. The hero was buried in the village of Hvizdets. Ivan is survived by his parents, wife, three sisters and three brothers.
