- Born on September 14, 1976, in the village of Velyka Luka, Ternopil District, Ternopil Region. He graduated from 9 grades of secondary school No. 8 in the city of Ternopil, then from Ternopil Higher Vocational School No. 4 named after Mykhailo Parashchuk. He served his mandatory military service in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine (on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea). In August 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 122nd Separate Airborne Battalion of the 80th Separate Airborne Brigade of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (since the fall of 2014, the 122nd Separate Airborne Battalion has been part of the 81st Separate Airborne Brigade of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - military unit field post V2250, city of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region). Since November 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On January 20, 2015, during the defense of the Donetsk International Airport, Ivan Vityshyn was trapped under the rubble as a result of the explosion of the second floor of the new terminal building by a Russian-terrorist group. On January 21, 2015, remaining under the rubble, Senior Sergeant Vityshyn died from his injuries and wounds. He was buried on February 19, 2015, in the cemetery of the village of Velyka Luka, Ternopil District. On July 5, 2015, in the urban-type settlement of Velyka Berezovytsia, Ternopil District, a memorial plaque was opened on the facade of the house where he lived, and on September 14, 2015, in the city of Ternopil, a memorial plaque was opened on the facade of secondary school No. 8 (Shkilna Street, 2), where Ivan Vityshyn studied.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
