- Senior Lieutenant Kostiantyn Hryn (call sign Ghost) was killed on July 8, 2022 near the village of Dementiivka in the Kharkiv region. While carrying out a combat mission, the officer received fatal injuries during enemy artillery shelling. The defender was forever 46 years old. Kostiantyn was born and lived his entire life in the capital. After school, he graduated from the Kyiv State Technical University of Construction and Architecture, obtaining the qualification of a process engineer. During his studies, he met his first and only love - a girl named Tetiana, with whom he soon married and lived in a happy marriage for 26 years. He actively explored various opportunities for developing his own business, studied languages, and tried to master new things - programming and computer science. He loved fishing and traveling. He was engaged in sports. He was preparing to participate in international competitions in the Kudo Federation. Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the capital's Territorial Defense Forces. He did not hesitate for a second, because trouble had come to his native land. He was the commander of the platoon of the 5th company of the 242nd separate battalion of the 241st separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also performed the duties of the company commander. Comrades-in-arms remember him as an initiative, responsible, intelligent, self-confident, and decisive person. He always took care of his comrades, never hid behind other people's backs, and never showed fear. "For 26 years, we have raised and raised two wonderful sons. He was a real man and father, strong and gentle, caring and demanding. He had a variety of hobbies, was full of strength and desires. He had many friends and was always in the spotlight. His wisdom and strength helped the very young athletes, he taught them to win and fight to the end. He was the best - a real man worthy of respect, and a true commander," said the officer's wife Tetiana. Kostiantyn was buried on the Alley of Heroes of one of the cemeteries in his native Kyiv. He is survived by a brother, wife, two sons, relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms. Posthumously, the hero was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree and a medal from the Orthodox Church of Ukraine "For Sacrifice and Love for Ukraine".Memory Platform 'Memorial'
